Customers of Maynilad can expect a slight improvement in the discolored and reduced water supply to the West Zone area on Tuesday. Maynilad spokesperson Grace Laxa said the water entering La Mesa Treatment Plants registered lower turbidity level, an indicator of clarity, at 3 a.m. Tuesday. The water distributor reduced its production over the weekend due to an increase in the turbidity level of Angat Dam, where it obtains raw water. Maynilad explained that the sediment content in the dam's water increased, owing to the continuous monsoon rains that eroded soil from the Angat watershed area. Expect discoloration, low water supply, Maynilad customers told Laxa said their water supply will normalize within one or two days, if weather conditions continue to improve.
