A landslide that struck the town of Kiangan in Ifugao province on Friday destroyed some houses and a vehicle with passengers, who emerged from the car unhurt after the incident.
Citing local officials, GMA News reported Saturday that continuous heavy rains in past days caused the landslide.
Eroded soil also covered portions of some vegetable farms and properties in the landslide-hit area, the report added.
Loose soil and rocks hit the AUV with seven on board, burying the car almost entirely.
However, all the seven passengers of the car owned by the vice mayor of Asipulo town emerged unhurt, the report said.
The landslide-hit portion of the road that connects the towns of Kiangan and Asipulo has been cleared and is now passable.
