Actor Mark Anthony Fernandez is scheduled to be brought Tuesday to the Prosecutor's Office for inquest after he was arrested Monday night for possession of marijuana, a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday said.
A kilo of marijuana was found on him at a checkpoint in Angeles City, Pampanga, Region III Police Director PCSupt. Aaron Aquino said.
Fernandez, however, said he had no idea where the illegal drugs came from.
He admitted to GMA News' Victoria Tulad that he was just about to buy marijuana from a dealer, and he thus did not have any illegal drugs on him, when police officers suddenly showed up apprehended him.
The actor also emphasized that he was not arrested at a security checkpoint.
Before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Fernandez was brought to the Philippine National Police crime laboratory in Camp Tomas Pepito, Angeles City for a drug test, Tulad reported.
He was escorted by policemen from Station 6.
According to the police, only a urine sample is required.
Fernandez is to be brought back to Station 6 after the drug test.
The actor is calm and has been very cooperative with policemen, the report said.
