MANILA - Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III said Thursday the Senate leadership will not act yet on the allegation of Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte that one senator is into cocaine use.
"No need to act on all pronouncements which refer to the Senate," Pimentel said in a text message.
Asked if the statement of the younger Duterte is damaging to the Senate, Pimentel said, "the Senate as an institution cannot snort cocaine. It has no nose."
Vice Mayor Duterte, son of President Rodrigo Duterte, earlier claimed that one senator uses cocaine, but he refused to name the legislator.
He made this claim after he was accused of self-confessed hitman Edgar Matobato of ordering the killings of some of his enemies.
